Inside my apartment

The basic fact that I admire bananas made me think about the food chain, our relationship with nature and 17th century dutch paintings. Vibrant colors against cold, sharp wall texture make a perfect balance and a pleasant overall impression. One of my personal favorite pictures. Belgrade, 2011.

Sremska Sausage

On 11-12th of February 2012 traditional Sremska Sausage was organized by the Slovak cultural and artistic society "Jednota” from Šid (town in the northwest Serbia). On this event master butchers compete in a fast slaughtering of pigs (speed processing of meat by hand, the old fashioned way with burning straw, and everything as it was once). Highlight of this manifestation is quickly eating sausage competition.

Dejan Šoškić, Serbian National Bank Governor

Incumbent and 4th Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Šoškić is also Associate Professor at Faculty of Economics. While shooting a portraiture session for the magazine interview, I was fascinated with the royal chair he was seating in and the contradictions he was saying about Dinar which hits record low in 2012, Thursday, 10. February. I felt privileged to be inside the place where National treasury is kept. The institution with its architecture looks nearly ancient, holding some legacy artworks and furniture.

Belgrade, Serbia, 2. February 2012.- BusPlus is the payment method for the GSP Belgrade, Tram and Train system. It is a thin, plastic card on which the customer electronically loads fares. Passengers are now able to credit personalized and non personalized tickets on various shops and since February 1st, they entirely replaced the existing paper card and stamps. According to Authority, the whole process is going to improve public transportation overall.

Bikić Do manifestation

Bikić Do is a village in Serbia, in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. It is located in the municipality of Šid, in the Srem District. The village is ethnically mixed and its population numbering around 350 people. Rusyns are major population, followed by Serbs and Croats. Manifestation is made to celebrate 165 years since Rusyns settled down the village. A friend of mine, Josef and me went there on Sunday 22. January 2012 to experience traditional rakija "loza" and chicken stew. Our hosts prepared musical folklore showing their legacy and deep national unity.
